Is Rarejob Philippines a Great Online Homebased Job? Tried and Tested!

Hey there! This is basically one of my earliest blogs on this site, so I decided to share something I already know; something I personally tried and tested this past couple of months. On this blog, we will be talking about one of the most popular online teaching site called RareJob Philippines.

It was over a year ago when I decided to resign as a call center agent in the Metro and went back home to Laguna due to my mysterious health issues. As a young adult in her early twenties with limited knowledge about jobs that could fit my needs, I started searching online for options (maybe just like what you're doing right now). And when I say options, I mean something with less stress, hassle, would pay fairly and of course,
LEGIT!

One great option that I saw was being an online English teacher. I have a degree in Communication so it's not totally out of my zone and it was also one of those jobs I've been considering ever since. PLUS! It's home-based so I would not need to commute every single day to go to work which was something I totally loathed back then (health issues pa more).

With my mindset, the next question was, which company would be a great choice. Of course, I depended again on the very helpful internet to answer my questions. And that was when I found RareJob. I mean there was a handful of sites with the same services but this one totally caught my eye. So, I gave it a go and had myself referred by a blogger I found online (it made my application so much easier because she gave me a few tips and tricks of course).

You're asking why I chose RareJob and why I think this is one of the best online jobs available in the PH? These are the total advantages of being a RareJob Online tutor as told by a reliable RareJob tutor herself aka me:

PROS:
- work from home
- the whole application process would be done online
- flexible schedule
- on-time payments
- incentives galore
Japanese students (very polite and respectful)
no need for a college diploma because anyone 18 and up can apply! Meaning, even students can definitely apply as part-timers if they please. (bongga 'di ba?)

Good? Good.

RATE slash SALARY

Of course, the juiciest part would be how much would you earn and how... (teka parang nagtutunog networking na ako ah... Open ka ba sa business?? Charot.)

So, if you are interested to apply at Rarejob, here are the deets:

Technically, new tutors like me would get paid
100 pesos per hour (2017) Not bad, not bad. But here's the trick, an hour actually consists of two classes or lessons (25 minutes per class + 5 minutes break). You will get paid for each lesson you'd book in a day which is 50 pesos per booked lessonSo ayun nga, 100php/hr.

There are plenty of ads and blogs claiming that you could earn as much as 35,000pesosesoses per month. Possible? Sure, why not. But that depends on your tenure and how many lessons you are willing to open each day. Because apparently, rates vary for new and old tutors. Fair enough for me.

Schedule for New Tutors:

Mon-Fri: 5am-8am and 5pm-12mn
Sat & Sun: 5am-12mn

You can choose to open at any time between the scheds stated above. And you can also choose not to open on any day if you choose to have days off. No pressure, it's your schedule. You do you, bes. Just be sure to have at least opened 1 lesson slot every two months to make sure your account will not be deactivated.

This is already as flexible as you can get in my opinion compared to other online teaching jobs available for Pinoys like us.

Sample Computation:

You are a very industrious human being, having opened 16 lessons a day (all booked) which is equal to 8 hours, every day for a month:

16 x 50 = 800

800 x 30 = 24,000

You now have 24,000 pesos, and this is just if you don't have added incentives on top of that. (You'd learn more on these amazing bonuses once you get in. I'm telling you, there are tons.)

But of course, minus the 10% tax and given you didn't acquire any penalties. No worries though, penalties are totally avoidable. Also, payments are sent every tenth of the month to your atm account (BPI or PNB). Endorsement letters will be provided by the company once you already passed the evaluations.

Sold already? If yes, this is the list of requirements and qualifications as well as the Application Process:

APPLICATION PROCESS

Step 1:
Registration

Register and create your RareJob account on the website. Easy peasy. Proceed to the Application Clearance after activating your account.

You can also choose to register through a referral link. I'll explain to you later on the how's and the little perks you'd have if you choose to be referred by me.

Step 2:
Screening

You just need to take a Proficiency Test and 2 Demo Lessons to make sure you are qualified to be an English tutor. If you passed, then you can breathe already. All that comes next is just preparations.

Step 3:
Onboarding

Next, you simply need to finish the
New Tutor Onboarding Program. It's like a training course to teach you how the website works and prepare you to teach. Then, off you go! You are now ready to open your first ever lesson and start to get paid!

Added INFO for INSPO:

That's it. 3 easy steps. Sounds easy, huh? Well because it is. All accomplished in the comforts of your own home.  After you registered, you just need to pass the screening. The Proficiency Test is just a standard English test and will be really easy for those who have good English skills. Nothing fancy. Then, Demo Lessons. Those are just trial classes made through Skype (which is where all the magic happens). Don't be afraid though. They won't bite. The trainers are really kind and helpful. They'd give you all the chances you need to prove you could do it. If they see you have potential, they'd guide you all the way.

And that's basically it. Like what I said, once you passed Step 2, you just need a little training and you can start already. Some tutors could take only a week to finish their application process. It all depends on your availability. They would take care of everything you need to be a great tutor. All you need to do is try, right?

So, if you're still reading this and are really interested in trying out, you can start registering on the site or register through
my referral link.

You can simply click the
"Apply Now!" banner at the very beginning or end of this blog.

All my referrals would have a chance to receive exclusive tips from me about the application process, especially the Demo Lesson. Let's make your application a little bit easier, shall we?

All you need to do is send me a screenshot of your completed registration using my link to
jennypasahol@gmail.com. Then I'll send you all the tips and tricks I have in my pocket. I'd also entertain all your questions there.

And if you still have questions before you register, you can freely comment on this blog and I'll answer them whole-heartedly.

!! IMPORTANT UPDATE !!: I decided not to teach online for now so the referral link would not work anymore. But if you have questions I would still answer them here if you have some. Thank you. :)

*Also, as we all know, there are some changes with the percent of tax deducted to the salary according to the new law. It's not 10% anymore. So yeah, you would be able to receive more than usual.

  1. Tutoring is a way to go. Any native language speaker can make a great money teaching English online on foreign country platforms. The native speaker earns 3-4 times more than average tutor in Russia/Chinees or any other sites. Here's you can start working with Polish https://buki.org.pl/korepetycje/jezyk-angielski/. Most of them have some basic understanding of English and it won't cause you any difficulties to work with them.

    1. Hi! Hindi ko na masyadong alam kung anong ganap sa Rarejob ngayon since 2017 pa ako nagwork sa kanila pero from my experience madali lang naman ang process. As long as meron ka ng mga requirements at makapasa ka sa tests, sila na ang bahalang magturo sa'yo kung paano mag-conduct ng lessons. Just don't be nervous kasi mabait naman ang mga trainers at lahat ng materials ay ibibigay na sa'yo before the demo lessons. Good luck!

  6. Hi! I'm sorry I don't have other additional information since I've stopped working for RareJob years ago (personal reasons). All I can say is, from my own experience, it was an easy application and I didn't have problems with the company while I was working on their site.
